During his twenty years’ plus experience of being an information professional, he has interviewed a broad range of people – people seeking information in libraries and private clients from his previous research consultancy (INFOley), together with a range of information projects.
Earlier in his career, as a hospital broadcaster at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, he interviewed a broad range of people (studio and location) from politicians to theatre directors and many others.
Also as a hospital broadcaster, he spoke at the bedside with a broad range of patients, young and old alike. It was while chatting – not interviewing – with patients that he realised that everyday people’s lives are intrinsically interesting in their detail. Ironically, it was his time as a broadcaster that led to him pursuing a career as a librarian (or modern internet-generation information professional) as he became very interested in the business of research and gathering information in preparation for interviews; a path which has led him, cumulatively, to setting-up and managing Your Biography.
